Authors Profile Analysis of the Journal of Epidemiology and Infection Control - 2016 to 2018

Introduction and objective: The content of the Journal of Epidemiology and Infection Control (JEIC) is aimed, in particular, at researchers, professors, professionals from the health area and students interested in epidemiology and infection control, because nowadays, publishing is almost a condition for professionals who aspire to academic life and want to contribute to knowledge development. Thus, the objective was to evaluate the profile of the authors who published in JEIC from 2016 to 2018. Methodology: This is a retrospective descriptive study. Data were collected from 12 issues published from 2016 to 2018. Information from the first and last author of original articles and review articles was included. Author’s affiliation were collected from the articles published, the name of the author's postgraduate graduate program was analyzed on the Lattes Platform and the concept of the Postgraduate Program (PPG) on the Sucupira Platform. All data were handled and analyzed using ExcelTM software. Descriptive analyzes were presented as frequencies and absolute numbers. Conclusions: Most authors are related to universities, more than 40% of the authors are related to Postgraduate Program with Capes’ evaluation 3 and 4. Thus, from this data the editorial team will be able to direct the journal's dissemination strategies as well as to draw strataems to qualify the journal.
