Pensares em revista: A report about the strategies that helped the journal’s evolution

Abstract

This experience report aims to describe in a summarized way the routine and the work method of the editorial team of Pensares em Revista, an electronic scientific journal, a journal of the Languages post-graduation course–the POFLETRAS program–at the Teacher Training Course in Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ). The journal integrates the Publications Portal of UERJ, therefore, it’s an institutional and open access journal, that uses the Open Journal System (OJS) platform. Through data, we proved the importance of divulgation and the use of social medias to the maintenance of the open access to the scientific knowledge. Throughout this work, will be exhibited some strategies adopted by Pensares em Revista, like the use of Facebook and Instagram and events engagement, and how they led us to the success of the journal. Thus, indexing is part of a fundamental and important process for the journal to achieve greater visibility and national and international qualification.
