Abstract

Abstracts provide general notions about the article content present in scientific publications, being, a priori, the reader's entry point in contact with the text. On the other hand, it is observed that the reach of audiovisual media has shown exponential growth in terms of reach and engagement. In this case study, the implementation of video abstracts is discussed, as well as possible obstacles to the use of audiovisual as an innovation strategy for the dissemination of articles practices by scientific journals. Also noteworthy are the paradigmatic characteristics related to the production of a video abstract and related editorial care.
