Análise bibliométrica do periódico Journal of the Geological Survey of Brazil

Abstract

Bibliometric analysis of the articles published in the Journal of the Geological Survey of Brazil - JGSB from April 2018 to August 2023. This analysis quantifies the authors who published in the journal (average number of authors per article and gender of the authors), the countries and institutions from where these authors are based, providing a profile of the researchers who use the journal as a vehicle for disseminating their investigations and studies. Among the results, we highlight the significant number of male authors, highlighting the masculine nature of the geosciences area, and affiliation with the institution that maintains the journal, which indicates low popularity among researchers in this area of knowledge in general.
