Diversidade geográfica institucional nos periódicos científicos vinculados ao Portal de Periódicos Udesc

Abstract

The aim was to analyze the geographical diversity on the editorial boards and authorship of Udesc journals between 2021 and 2023. The results indicate a predominance of Brazilian editorial boards and authors, with a greater concentration in the Southeast and South regions, with Santa Catarina standing out as the most representative. This can be attributed to inequalities in access to research and infrastructure, language and dissemination barriers. The findings highlight the need for inclusive policies that encourage the participation of researchers from different regions and countries, in line with the principles of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA). Increasing geographical diversity in Udesc's journals will contribute to a more representative and diverse scientific output.
