Mapping Open Science in Brazilian Management Journals: Current Situation and Future Prospects

Abstract

The integration of open science principles into the editorial policies of scientific journals has been advocated and implemented on a global scale. These principles are designed to facilitate the production of a more transparent, equitable, collaborative, and, most importantly, highly ethical and scientific science. This descriptive study aims to provide empirical evidence of the use and implementation of these principles by journals in the area of Administration in the SciELO Brazil collection, focusing mainly on the recommendations of the TOP Guide. The evidence from the 17 management journals shows that most of them still occupy a Level 0 position in the four main guidelines for the field. The use of badges, for example, is only employed by one of the journals.
