For young journals just starting out in publishing, reaching national and international researchers is a major challenge. The objective of this work was to discuss the main challenges and strategies adopted by the journal Drug Analytical Research, established in 2017, for its dissemination. Through experience reports, based on the memories and records of the editorial board members, it was possible to list as strategies the invitations sent to researchers, the seeking for indexing in various databases and directories, as well as the use of the School of Pharmacy's social media. It is clear that a wide range of dissemination strategies should be adopted by new journals to consolidate their reputation and to reach relevant papers for publication.
