This study analyzes how scientific dissemination can contribute to Open Science practices in scientific journals, based on a case study of the Revista Brasileira de Cancerologia (RBC), an open access journal maintained by the Instituto Nacional de Câncer (INCA). The research focused on issue vol. 71, no. 1 (2025), evaluating the dissemination of articles on social media (Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn), the institutional website, and alternative metrics (Altmetrics, ScienceOpen, and Mendeley). The results indicated that digitally promoted articles had higher accesses, views, and readership than non-publicized articles. We conclude that scientific dissemination on social media contributes to increasing the visibility, impact, and democratization of knowledge, strengthening the principles of Open Science.
