Reformulation of editorial guidelines and practices: an experience report from Revista Estratégias & Soluções

Abstract

Updating editorial guidelines is an ongoing challenge for academic journals, given the growing demands for ethical, transparent, and sustainable practices. This report describes the process of revising the guidelines of the Revista Estratégias e Soluções (E&S), driven by the increase in submissions, recurring questions from authors, adherence to the Open Science movement, and international recommendations regarding artificial intelligence and scientific integrity. The methodology was based on a structured action plan, collaboratively developed by the editorial team. The results highlight improvements in governance, standardization of guidelines, and the creation of transparency tools, strengthening the journal’s credibility, editorial and financial sustainability, and overall relevance.
