Demystifying experience reports: impacts on university extension and student training

Abstract

This work analyzes the relevance of publishing experience reports in scientific journals, especially in extension journals. In the journal Interagir: pensando a extensão, this type of manuscript is valued for documenting activities carried out by students with doctoral advisors, as this experience allows for teamwork development, familiarization with scientific and technical rigor, critical reflection, theoretical references, academic writing, etc., which directly impacts the student’s professional career. The methodology is qualitative and descriptive, based on the experience of the editorial team of the journal Interagir: pensando a extensão. The conclusion is that experience reports contribute to the systematization of extension practices, enabling the dissemination of knowledge and results that benefit both the academic community and society at large.
