SciELO Preprints in the COVID-19 pandemic

The aim of this study is to quantify the studies on COVID-19 submitted to the SciELO Preprints collection. It is a documental and bibliographical research, done in the Repository SciELO Preprints, until the date of May 22, 2020. The keywords used were: COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, Coronavirus, Betacoronavirus and Pandemics. A substantial number of manuscripts was published in the SciELO Preprints repository in very little time due to the pandemic. There were 152 papers deposited in six areas: Health Sciences, Biological Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, Humanities, Engineering, Exact and Earth Sciences. They were mainly submitted to the area of Health Sciences, and most of them (73) written in Portuguese, then 53 are in English and 23 are in Spanish.
